I DON’T know about you, but I will be glad when the transfer window closes and we can get back to normal.
Get back to what we love; watching football and, for me, getting back to writing about football. You, know, the stuff that happens on the field.
But, of course, the speculation is not going to go away and Gareth Bale is still being linked with a move to Manchester United.
Sky pundit Jamie Redknapp reckons if United can pull off the deal, they might as well give them the title now.
I’m not so sure. Bale is going nowhere and even if he did swap the Bernabeu for Old Trafford, there are no guarantees he will make that much of a difference.
What is it they say about one man not making a team?
There are also rumours surrounding Manchester United, concerning Tottenham’s Danny Rose.
Do they really need another crocked left back? Haven’t they learned their lesson with Luke Shaw?
Rose is returning to fitness after his injury setback in January, but it would be a gamble for United – and one they cannot afford to take.
Inter Milan have also shown interest in Rose who, when fit and firing, is as good as any in his position.
He could probably double his money by going to United, but Mauricio Pochettino is keen to keep all his young stars.
Harry Kane and Dele Alli have also been linked with a move away – but it’s not going to happen.
It might next season if Spurs flop, but now. Whether Pochettino makes a late delve into the transfer market remains to be seen. But he seems happy with his lot.
Spurs could well challenge for top spot but so much depends on Kane staying fit – and staying on course for a third, successive golden boot.
