WHILST the debate carries on whether Spurs are actually moving to a new ground or just ‘refurbishing’ White Hart Lane, Arsenal fans will have many happy memories of their old friend’s ground in its current form.

Ahead of Tottenham’s final game at the Lane against Manchester United on Sunday, here are just five reasons why the red half of North London will be looking forward to playing at the new White Hart Lane, whatever it ends up being called…

May 3rd 1971 – Spurs 0-1 Arsenal

Spurs trying to stop Arsenal’s first Double. Goal average meaning a 0-0 gave the title to Arsenal, but a 1-1 favoured Leeds. Ray Kennedy wins it with an 88th minute header. Tens of thousands inside, the same locked out – no live TV back then. All friends afterwards, on and off the pitch, another era.
