Zlatan Ibrahimovic has certainly made an impact at Manchester United – 26 goals so far don’t lie.
The super Swede is Eric Cantona re-incarnated – a talisman, a character and a true pro. Full of arrogance and bon viveur!
His teammates have welcomed him with open arms – and he has delivered.
As with Cantona, when Becks, Scholes and Co were developing, Zlatan is offering something to the kids of today.
A quality that is not lost on Jose Mourinho, who is keen for the 35-year-old to extend his stay at Old Trafford.
A trophy winner in every country he has played in, the former Swedish international is a key player – in fact, the new self-proclaimed ‘Special One’. Stand aside Jose!
Asked if United’s League Cup Final victory is the start of something special for the club, Swedish star said: “I came – that is special.”
Whether he stays at the club for another season or not remains unclear. He’s keeping his options open – at least judging by these comments on the BBC Sport website – http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/39098913
“We have another two months of the season to go,” Ibrahimovic said.
“Let’s see how I feel, the situation. Somebody made up a story that if we don’t qualify for the Champions League I will not extend. It has nothing to do with that.”
United boss Mourinho believes the Swede will stay – but added: “I never beg for a player to sign a contract.”
After his match-winning performance in the EFL Cup Final against Southampton, Zlatan posted this pic – to show his love of the club.
