Zapsportz blogger John writes…
‘The Lillywhite Foundation would like to send its enormous thanks to Midnight Productions, Zapsportz, and the main man Ossie Ardiles – a true legend and gent.
What a wonderful night at the Sanctum Hotel, a fitting venue for the screening of a great film showing the career of a great footballer and great human being.
Wonderful to see other legends there too, including Ricky Villa and Glenn Hoddle, as well as celebrated sports writer Harry Harris.
A truly memorable evening and the money raised for the The Lillywhite Foundation (www.lillywhitefoundation.org) will be gratefully received by the young people and children whose lives will be made better’.
The Lillywhite Foundation: giving young people a sporting chance.
Zapsportz team leader Glenn Hoddle also joined in the celebrations and was delighted to be reunited with his former teammate who he regards as one of the best midfielders he has played alongside.
The Argentine Ambassador turned out too, as did the FA Cup – and just about everybody wanted to get their hands on it, including Glenn, Ossie and Ricky – the Holy Trinity – as they remembered when they actually did get their hands on it at Wembley.
Argentine ambassador Renato Carlos Sersale di Cerisano clearly enjoyed the evening and wrote to the event organisers – and Zapsportz – saying: “Thanks for Friday evening. It is always an honour to participate in any recognition and tribute to Ossie and Ricky. They represent the best of Argentine football.”
