CRISTIANO Ronaldo has been left out of Real Madrid‘s squad for their pre-season tour of the United States and the clash with his old club Manchester United, just days after Zapsportz.com reported that Chelsea are ready to make an earth-shattering bid.
Ronaldo’s future has been one of the major talking points of the summer, with the four-time Ballon d’Or winner reportedly desperate to leave the club following accusations of tax fraud by the Spanish authorities – and recent reports that he might stay just one more year yet to be verified as accurate.
Ronaldo will not travel with the rest of the squad for their tour of America, renewing speculation that something might yet happen before the new season in the way of a big money transfer.
Ronaldo is currently on holiday in Ibiza with his family – including his newborn twins – having helped Portugal to the semi-finals of the Confederations Cup this summer.
The former United player has also been linked with a possible return to Old Trafford, but that seems unlikely as Chelsea will outbid the Manchester giants.
Ronaldo has been given reassurances by the Spanish club’s hierarchy that he is still very much part of their plans. But his future remains uncertain and open to debate.
Sergio Ramos is another notable absentee from the Real squad, but Alvaro Morata, who has been linked with both Chelsea and Manchester United, does travel despite being strongly linked with a move away from the Spanish capital.
Real Madrid will take on Manchester United, Manchester City and Barcelona in the International Champions Cup, in addition to facing an MLS All-Stars side.
