Transfer speculation galore, of course, so let’s check out what we think is hot and what’s not. And rate the rumours accordingly…

Chelsea have launched a £25m swoop for Arsenal star Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. Daily Mail 2/10

No way Arsene will sell a player who had such a good season to a title rival. Especially not at that price. Another productive campaign under his belt and the Ox will sign a new deal at the Emirates.

Southampton are prepared to let Virgil van Dijk, 26, ‘rot in the stands’ than sell the Dutch defender to Liverpool. Daily Express 1/10

No point paying a player good money to ‘rot in the stands’, as the paper suggests. Doesn’t make sense. Doesn’t make sense to keep a player who clearly wants to leave. Saints, as we know, are a selling club – and they will flog Van Dijk when the price is right.

Mario Balotelli has been caught speeding (again!) after police caught him in his Ferrari while racing his pal’s Lamborghini at speeds of 105-125mph. The Sun 8/10

Once a nutter; always a nutter. When will this fella ever grow up? ’Why always me?’, he once portrayed in his T-shirt as a City player. Why? Because it always you.

Barcelona are ready to step up their interest in Liverpool playmaker Philippe Coutinho in order for him to make his debut against Real at the weekend. Daily Mail 1/10

Paper and power brokers get real. Coutinho is going nowhere. Don’t remember him ever expressing a desire to leave Anfield. As Liverpool have commented, Barca officials are wasting their time coming to England.

Whilst the Independent claim PSG are prepared to offer £80million for Alexis Sanchez, other sources say the French moneybags have dropped their interest. Daily Telegraph 8/10

More inclined to go with the Telegraph on this one – not least because PSG have already shelled out a ridiculous £200million on Neymar.
