WHILST the papers today are obviously dominated by the sacking of Claudio Ranieri and the fall-out from his dismissal, there’s still plenty of other gossip doing the rounds. We check out the best – and the worst…and rate accordingly…

Benfica’s president is reported to be in Manchester talking to United over Nelson Semedo, and he is also negotiating a deal with City for goalkeeper Ederson Moraes. A Bola 5/10

If Luis Filipe Vieira can pull off both deals it would rake in something in the region of £67million. United might go for Semedo but can’t see City shelling out over £33m for a keeper.

Dani Alves could link up with former Barcelona boss Pep Guardiola at Manchester City next season. Daily Mail 2/10

Does Pep really want a 33-year-old with injury problems. Doesn’t make sense.

Arsenal’s players are convinced Arsene Wenger will sign a new contract that keeps him at the Emirates Stadium for the next two seasons. Times 6/10

The word from the dressing room is normally more reliable than the word from the news room. We’re convinced Wenger will stay. For one year, at least.

Manchester United Ashley Young has ruled out a move to the Chinese Super League. Mirror 6/10

He’s too young to move into unchartered territory. Plus, he seems to be back in favour at United.

Willy Caballero is in no rush to sign a new deal at Manchester City despite being the club’s latest No.1. Sun 5/10

He’s probably holding fire given that Guardiola has been linked with a whole host of keepers, including Moraes and Samir Handanovic.

Hector Bellerin is open to a return to Barcelona should manager Arsene Wenger leave Arsenal this summer. Mundo Deportivo 3/10

He’ll go if Arsene goes – but neither are likely to happen.
