FOR those of us of ‘a certain age’, we remember Ron Harris both with fondness…and fear!

Fondness by those of a Chelsea persuasion; fear by those who had to play against him. Just ask Eddie Gray.

Ron didn’t get his nickname ‘Chopper’ for nothing. He took no prisoners and defended as if his life depended on it.

Now that life of a Chelsea legend, record appearance holder, is captured in film and set to be released next week.

Ron represented Chelsea with distinction from 1961 to 1980, making well over 700 appearances, and was renowned for his ferocious tackling and never-wilting desire to come out on top.
