Stars pay tribute to a great football and family man: Ugo Ehiogu

THE tributes continue to pour in for Ugo Ehiogu who sadly passed away today at the all-too young age of 44.

He was a gentle giant; a man mountain on the pitch – a wonderful, kind person off it. All journalists who knew him respected him for being so considerate and courteous.

All of his former teammates, managers and supporters have the same view – he was indeed a great man, not just a great footballer.

Former England women and Arsenal Ladies forward Kelly Smith tweeted: “RIP my friend Ugo Ehiogu, gone too soon. A wonderful, caring man.”

Ex-Blackburn, Chelsea and Celtic striker Chris Sutton‏ tweeted: “Really upsetting news about Ugo Ehiogu. Football has lost a great player and a great man. Thoughts go out to his family. RIP Ugo.”

Former Villa teammate Paul McGrath revealed his devastation at the news of his great friend’s passing.
