ASSUMING he was watching last night’s astonishing events at the King Power Stadium, Romelu Lukaka must have been sinking lower and lower in his armchair as the game went on.
Before Tottenham’s 6-1 spanking of Leicester, the Everton hit man was leading the race for this season’s Golden Boot as the Premier League’s top scorer by two goals.
By the end of the match, Lukaku was two goals BEHIND Harry Kane after the Spurs striker’s four-goal wonder show, with two of his haul coming in the last few minutes.
A bitter pill for Lukaku, a target for former club Chelsea we are led to believe, to swallow as he had been favourite to claim the coveted prize Kane walked off with last season.
So, it’s all down to the last game of the season and with Everton away at Arsenal and Spurs travelling to relegated Hull, the odds are firmly in Kane’s favour.
Let’s take a look at those who have been in the hunt for the Golden Boot for much of the season in our Friday photo gallery.
