MANCHESTER United are said to be preparing what has been described as an ‘insane’ offer for Monaco striker Kylian Mbappe, according to reports in Spain.

The Monaco striker has emerged as the club’s number one priority signing this summer, although we are not 100 per cent convinced.

Spanish media sources claim United are ready to put any thoughts of signing Antoine Griezmann on the back-burner in favour of landing the teenager.

All of which goes against previous rumours – as reported on Zapsportz – that Griezmann is a nailed-on signing in the summer.

Maybe, there is some truth in the Mbappe rumours as the 18-year-old, who has scored 17 times this season, has clearly caught the eye during Monaco’s rise to the top of Ligue 1 and into the Champions League quarter-finals.

Having been compared with Thierry Henry, however, Mbappe, will not come cheap. And apparently has a £51million release cause in his contract.

According to Don Balon, via the Daily Express, United are planning a ‘mad’ offer to bring him to Old Trafford this summer. They will face competition from the likes of Arsenal and Real Madrid, however.

The talented teenager, also believed to be an Arsenal target, was called up to the French national squad by Didier Deschamps this week so is obviously highly rated.

But £50m + for a teenager – do me a favour!
