KEVIN de Bruyne, Manchester City’s best player last season, is confident the former champions can get back to the top of the pile.

After a trophy-less season, Pep Guardiola’s men are determined to turn the tables and come back fighting.

City finished third last season – a whopping 15 points behind champions Chelsea, and eight points adrift of second placed Tottenham.

De Bruyne reckons there are ‘six or seven teams’ capable of winning the Premier League title, but says City are in good shape to make a more positive challenge.

Zapsportz chief writer Harry Harris agrees and has City down as favourites to reclaim their crown. See mine and Harry’s pre-season forecasts below.

Controversially, perhaps, I’ve gone for Arsenal to end their title drought now that Arsene Wenger has committed to the cause and strengthened his squad.

Harry doesn’t give them a prayer.

Manchester United, of course, will come into the mix but I think Jose Mourinho’s men will have to settle for a top five finish.

Harry disagrees and reckons the Red Devils will finish third, behind Manchester City and Chelsea.

It’s all open to conjecture before a ball has been kicked in anger, but I’ve got a funny feeling at this early stage it could be Arsenal’s year.

Let’s do a quick check on what the majority of bookies think…

THE ODDS AS THEY STAND

Manchester City 15/8

Chelsea  7/2

Manchester United 10/3

Spurs 8/1

Arsenal 11/1

Liverpool 11/1

Here’s how me and Harry think the top of the Premier League table will look at the end of the new season…
