HARRY Kane – pound for pound; goal for goal – is the best striker in the Premier League.
England are lucky to have him. Who else can Gareth Southgate turn to as his main man?
A hat-trick against Fulham; the same against Stoke and brace against Everton put Kane top of the tree.
He even managed an own goal against Gent for good measure! Or bad.
With his injury problems seemingly behind him, Kane is back to his best. And bringing out the best of those around him.
Dele Alli thrives when he has Kane to feed – and feed off – and the same applies to Christian Eriksen who loves having the big man around.
As a threesome, they are just about the best around.
Certainly Alli and Kane are the perfect match. They have even got their goal celebrations off to a fine art.
Former Spurs favourite Sol Campbell (well he was until he went to Arsenal!) hit the nail on the head with his assessment of Kane…
…‘he is benefiting from the fact the manager believes in him’. I wouldn’t argue with that.
There was a time this season I thought Kane was trying TOO hard. Trying his luck with shots from too far out and from difficult angles.
So desperate to make the impact we have come to expect.
Now, he looks as though he is playing with more freedom, less pressure, with so many goo d players around him.
Long may he stay at Spurs – he is, after all, ‘one of their own’ – and long may he reign in an England shirt. Football needs more Harry Kanes.
