Glenn Hoddle, Ricky Villa and other Spurs legends to attend Ossie Ardiles’ film premiere on Friday

OSSIE  Ardiles life story is now immortalised in the latest of a series of ‘Legends Lives’ to be screened at the Sanctum Soho Hotel on Friday, May 5 when a host of Spurs legends will attend the premiere.

Ricky Villa is over from Argentina and will be at Ossie’s big night. Among other Spurs legends invited and who have indicated their attendance are: Glenn Hoddle, Garth Crooks and Gerry Armstrong, all of whom played alongside Ardiles at the Lane.

Untold insights into Ardiles carrer are told in the 60-minute documentary with interviews including: Mauricio Pochettino, Juergen Klinsmann, Chris Hughton, Teddy Sheringham, Glenn Hoddle, Garth Crooks, Ricky Villa, Mario Kempes, Mickey Hazard, and Gerry Armstrong. The Argentine Ambassador is also attending, and among the charity auction items is a signed shirt from Diego Maradona, Glenn Hoddle signed copies of Down Memory Lane, and a Lord Sugar signed copy of his autobiography.

Pochettino, talking in the film, comments:  “He represents a legend, not only for Tottenham, but for world football, and for Argentina he is one of the most important players ever as he won the World Cup in 1978.

“It was very special for me especially as I was six years old and I listen and the names I hear were Ardiles, Passarella, Kempes, so for me he was one the best in the world.  He is forever in the history of world  always be a legend in football.”

Terry Neill, the former Spurs manager, reveals it was ‘the worst decision of my managerial career’  that he didn’t sign Ardiles and Villa for the Gunners!

Sheringham tells the full story of how Ardiles, when manager, wanted to sign Diego Maradona for Spurs, but changed his mind and signed Klinsmann instead, while Klinsmann gives his own exclusive interview from LA.

The ‘red carpet’ premiere of  the Ardiles life story will be followed by a 5-star gourmet Spurs themed menu from the hotels two master chefs on a once-in-a-life time film experience at the hotels’ luxurious cinema.

And for those believing Spurs can go one point behind Cheslea, there will be live screening of the match at the Olympic Stadium in the cinema.
