ARSENE Wenger’s future at the Emirates is not the only topic of debate today – as Alexis Sanchez looks as though he’s on the way out too.
The Arsenal boss has insisted that he will still be a manager next season. Whether that’s in North London or elsewhere remains to be seen.
Wenger says he will make a decision in March or April. The clever money is on him leaving in the summer. China the next port of call, perhaps?
Even if he does stay, he’s unlikely to start the season with his main man Sanchez, with Juventus and PSG ready to pounce.
There are plenty of stories, none substantiated, that he wants to quit after a row with his teammates following the crushing 5-1 defeat to Bayern Munich.
Sanchez was apparently fuming about the way the team capitulated in the second half in Munich and his post-match rant didn’t go down well with his pals.
That’s according to the Sun, whilst the Mirror reports that assistant boss Steve Bould launched a water bottle against the wall as he let tip at the players too.
Clearly, all is not well with the Arsenal camp and it’s going to take all Wenger’s experience and diplomatic skills to sort this mess out.
Gunners’ chiefs believe that, whether Wenger stays or goes, Sanchez has already made up his mind to leave in the summer.
If that’s the case, then maybe it’s better he does go – you don’t need ructions in the camp. The team, the squad needs to stick together when the going gets tough.
Bite the bullet; knuckle down and get on with it. The fans, at least, deserve that.
So where do you Arsenal fans stand on this – should they go or should they stay now? Let us know.
