Gunners hero Kenny Sansom wants Arsene Wenger to pick players in their right position and expects Alexis Sanchez to give full effort.
Bournemouth at home for Arsenal on Saturday is huge. I watched the defeat at Liverpool and they could have lost 6-0. This game is as big as Palace’s visit to Burnley.
Ozil and Ramsey are just not performing and we are not good enough defensively. I thought before the Leicester game that we would concede.
I don’t think Arsenal should have sold Chamberlain. He’s a great team player and you need them. You need 11 team players and, if you have them, you don’t have a bad season.
For me, I wouldn’t have sold Chamberlain. He defends and he attacks. He doesn’t make all the right decisions, but he’s only a kid. I used to play with his Dad, Mark, for England and he was a similar player.
Not being funny, Wenger has been at Arsenal a long time. If he didn’t know Chamberlain’s best position, it was madness to have him move positions so much, at left wing-back and right wing-back. You have to play players where they feel comfortable.
You don’t sell Sanchez, if you have ambition, so I’m pleased that he has stayed. I expect Sanchez to put in full effort when he plays. He’s that sort of person.
He was almost picking the ball up from his centre-halves at Liverpool. For a player that can beat people, that is crazy. I think Arsene Wenger should put Sanchez and Giroud up front against Bournemouth.
Arsenal need to win the game and get three points. That is the be-all and end-all. It would be a bonus if they won 3-0, but 1-0 is fine, get the three points. Wenger must decide what positions to play people and keep to it. Although I started as a goalkeeper, so I got away with it!
